Hot Weather, Hot Food and Hot Men

I’ve just come back from 10 days of holiday in hot, hot Spain. It was a very last minute and spontaneous decision – something that being single allows you to do. What a great time I had!

I wasn’t planning to go away until September when the hotels are a bit quieter, but I got a message from my ex-mentor, Wealthcoach Nicola Cairncross of The Money Gym and her sister Sarah of The Virtual Hammockinviting me to join them in the lovely town of Casares for a week.

I decided to go three days before I was due to meet Nicola and Sarah and just chill out at a hotel near Malaga airport. Very, very relaxing three days in the sun by the beach and at the hotel’s rooftop pool. It was definitely a good idea.

I met Nicola, Sarah and Nicola’s youngest, Nelson, who was too young to travel on his own (by just 3 months) at Malaga airport, as they waved five teenagers off who were heading back to the UK.

After stopping to get food and drink supplies, we headed for the beautiful town of Casares, which is perched at the top of a mountain. We unloaded everything and then headed to the beach where two jaded mothers , having survived two weeks holiday with six children promptly fell asleep the second their bodies hit their towels.

The week was an absolute blast. In the mornings we all worked on our online businesses, spent the afternoons at various beaches and ate out most evenings. The couple of times we did eat in, I must say Nicola made a mean paella and Sarah some seriously spicy chicken – yummy!

I learned how to play Texas Hold’em and managed to get my soon to be published book sent to typeset.

I also helped ‘coach’ Nelson on his skimboarding skills with his new skimboarder. You’ll see me in the video too!

I’m glad I took my Spanish phrasebook as few people in town spoke English. “Un caffee con leche, por favor” (A white coffee please.)  It was also very useful when we wanted to chat with the opposite sex. “Esta caliente!” (He’s hot!) or “Esta sola?” (Are you single?) Needless to say as single women, we had a great time!

Single And Want to Travel?

Though I had a super time with my friends, there are also times that I like going on my own to relax and unwind too. The worst thing about travelling solo, however, is when you are met with hefty single supplements.
