The Lessons of Teenage Love. . . .
Do you remember when you were in love as a teenager? How different was that to how you think about love now? This video was done by the daughter of a good friend of mine. Chloe and her boyfriend had just got back together after a break. Her boyfriend Dom wrote this song and the video to tell her how he felt. It reminded me of what we ‘oldies’ may have forgotten about love:
1. Living in the moment.Capturing it,enjoying it,indulging in it. As adults, who may have been bruised a few times by love, we often live too much in the future “what if ‘s” – “What if it doesn’t work out?” What if I get dumped?” All we truly have is the moment. Live it.
2. Who says men don’t have heart and soul? Put your Mars-Venus books on the shelf and just be who you are and express what you want to express – forget about what planet you are supposed to be from.
3. Nourish a relationship. We invest is cars, properties, stocks, our careers but somehow we don’t think about investing in our relationships. This video was an investment of time and thoughtfulness. What you water will grow. Take time to water.

Yes, it’s rather wonderful isn’t it? I think Dom made the video too but Phoebe made him make it, for Chloe, and showed him how. He wrote the song and his mate did the guitar. My very favourite line is “turn my frown upside down” ….all good stuff. Brings a tear to my cynical old eye every time LOL Nicola xxx
